Why patients choose us

Why choose WheelHouse for vitamin B12 injections

Labs before shots

We check your B12 level, and often iron, thyroid and a blood count, so we treat the real reason you feel the way you do.

Quick clinic visits

Once you have a plan, each injection takes a few minutes in our Woodbridge clinic, Monday to Saturday.

We keep looking

If your B12 is normal, we look for the cause of your tiredness instead of selling you a shot you do not need.

How it works

From blood test to a plan that fits

Most people need one consultation, one blood test and a short follow-up to get started.

  1. Consultation

Talk through your symptoms, diet, medicines and health history, by video or in person.

  2. Blood test

We order a B12 level and related labs at discounted cash-pay prices, drawn near you.

  3. Your plan

If you are low, we agree on tablets or injections, the dose and the schedule.

  4. Follow-up

We recheck your level and how you feel, so you only get shots for as long as they help.

Is it right for you?

B12 injections may suit you if you

  • Have low B12 confirmed by a blood test
  • Have pernicious anemia or another condition that stops your gut absorbing B12
  • Have had weight-loss surgery or part of your stomach or bowel removed
  • Have taken metformin or acid-reducing medicine for years and your level is low
  • Eat a vegan or mostly plant-based diet and your level is low
  • Have numbness, tingling or balance problems linked to low B12

Who it suits

Who B12 shots help, and who should start elsewhere

B12 is one of the safest vitamins to give, but a shot is not the answer for everyone.

Often a good fit

  • Low B12 on a recent blood test
  • Trouble absorbing B12 from food, for example pernicious anemia or after stomach surgery
  • Very low levels, or nerve symptoms such as numbness or tingling
  • Tablets that have not raised your level

Talk to us first, or choose another route

  • You feel tired but have not had a blood test yet
  • Your B12 level is normal, since extra B12 is unlikely to add energy
  • An allergy to cobalt, cobalamin or a previous B12 product
  • Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy, an inherited eye condition
  • Kidney disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding, where we tailor the plan

Good to know

Shots, tablets and the energy question

Shots or tablets? When low B12 comes from diet, high-dose tablets often work as well as injections. Shots are the usual choice when your body cannot absorb B12, when levels are very low, or when nerves are affected. We tell you which applies to you.

B12 for energy or weight loss. If your level is normal, research has not shown that extra B12 gives you more energy or helps you lose weight. Weekly energy or lipo shots are common online, but if you are tired, the better first step is finding out why.

Common questions

Vitamin B12 injections questions

Still wondering about something? Call or text us Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

If you are low in B12, treating it often eases tiredness over days to weeks. If your level is normal, studies have not shown that extra B12 boosts energy. That is why we test first.

It depends on the cause. People who cannot absorb B12 usually start with several injections close together, then continue at regular intervals, sometimes for life. Others need a short course or can switch to tablets. We set the schedule with you and recheck your level.

Often, yes. High-dose tablets raise B12 well for many people. Injections are better when levels are very low, nerves are affected, or tablets have not worked.

For most people, yes. Mild diarrhea or a sore arm can happen. Serious allergic reactions are rare, which is one reason we give injections in the clinic and ask about allergies first.

There is no good evidence that B12 shots cause weight loss in people who are not deficient. If weight is your goal, our medical weight management program looks at the reasons behind it and at options that are proven to help.

No. Anyone can book. Members can use a visit included in their plan for the consultation and message us between injections.
