Background

Experience that shows in every visit

Lydia is a board-certified nurse practitioner (NP-C) practicing independently in Virginia. Before founding WheelHouse Health she worked in a state-level healthcare setting, where she built deep experience in wound care, chronic condition management, skin concerns and home-based primary care.

Her experience also includes acute care and cardiology. That breadth means she is comfortable with complicated histories, long medicine lists and conditions that affect each other, and quick to spot when something needs another specialist.

She started WheelHouse Health so patients could have what she saw people missing most: time to talk, a clinician who remembers them, and a clear way to get back in touch. Read our story

Nurse practitioners, explained

What is a board-certified nurse practitioner?

A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced graduate education and clinical training. NPs take your history, examine you, diagnose and treat illness, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medicines. Many people choose an NP as their main primary care provider.

The NP-C credential means Lydia passed a national board certification exam for nurse practitioners. In Virginia, nurse practitioners are licensed by the state. More on nurse practitioners

A visit with Lydia

What to expect when you see her

  1. Before you meet

Your intake forms in the patient portal give her your history, medicines and allergies, so the visit starts with you, not paperwork.

  2. Your story first

She asks what is going on and what you want from the visit, and listens before she suggests anything.

  3. A plain-language plan

She explains what she thinks is happening, what the options are, and why she recommends one of them.

  4. Clear next steps

You leave knowing what happens next, from labs or prescriptions to a follow-up, and how to reach her.

Her approach

"The visit should end with a plan you understand."

Lydia’s visits are built around listening. She takes time with your history, explains what she thinks is going on in plain language, and makes sure you know what happens next and how to reach her. Patients describe feeling heard, respected and involved in their care.

★★★★★

I had a great experience with Lydia, NP through Wheelhouse’s concierge telehealth service. She was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to talk to. I never felt rushed during the appointment, and she took the time to listen carefully to my concerns and explain everything in a way that was easy to understand.

The convenience of concierge telehealth was excellent, but what really stood out was Lydia’s responsiveness and compassionate approach. She made me feel heard, respected, and involved in my care plan. Follow-up communication was prompt, and the entire process was smooth and efficient.

I would highly recommend Lydia, NP to anyone looking for personalized, high-quality telehealth care through Wheelhouse.
